Spread the love

cusom home building blog 1 2 Journey To Our Dream Home | Phase 1

We started out 6 years ago by looking for a 3 bedroom house in town. We never did find a house that fit our needs or style. All of the homes in Kerrville are either a million years old (or built in the 60s haha!) or terribly expensive. So, then we expanded our search to land. We started out thinking we just needed a half acre or so. Then we decided we wanted 3-5 acres. Then we wanted 10 acres. Somehow we ended up with THIRTY-SIX ACRES! Neither of us had this vision until about 6 months ago. Jason wanted to be able to hunt from the back porch (he’s a redneck at heart, and I say that with love), and when we came across this land it checked off every “need” we have ever had. There’s flat areas that are perfect for homesteading, and there are valleys and trails and wilderness that are perfect for hunting. We hope to build our dream home here and raise some little Jeffers, God willing.  I can’t wait! Here’s a little tour of our property. Most (99%) of these images are taken with my iPhone, so the quality isn’t the best, but I had to share anyway!

(And in case you were wondering, I AM planning on doing photo sessions out here because it’s SO PRETTY!)

First and foremost, we have COWS! They’re the cutest things and the best part is we don’t have to feed them! They’re leased on the property by someone else. Win-win!kerrville landscape real estate photography 1 kerrville landscape real estate photography 3 We also have an INCREDIBLE view. Our land is flat and then gently slopes. There are tons of bushes and ground cover. We haven’t decided if we are keeping it like it is or clearing it out. There are also lots of “holy rocks” that I am already making plans for ;)kerrville landscape real estate photography 15Since there are cows and deer (and all of the Hill Country creatures) on our land, there are natural trails that are really fun to follow! kerrville landscape real estate photography 16 Part of our land dips down into a valleykerrville landscape real estate photography 13 kerrville landscape real estate photography 8 kerrville landscape real estate photography 9 kerrville landscape real estate photography 10 This is Tanner, our real estate agent!
