An Elegant Autumn Wedding at The Hotel Emma in San Antonio, Texas | San Antonio Wedding Photographer
Robby and Angela are MARRIED! We’ve been waiting for this day for YEARS! Okay, maybe not years, but months and months and MONTHS, and I’ve had such an amazing time getting to know these two. We did their engagement session at Hotel Emma (check it out here) and Angela’s BEAUTIFUL bridal session at her aunt’s ranch in Hondo (see more here). I’ve learned so much about them, and I’m convinced Angela and I were separated at birth. We love all of the same things (*ahem* Taylor Swift most of all LOL) and the more I heard about the details at her wedding the more excited I became.
The wedding was EPIC.
Angela thought of every little thing–including, but not limited to, gift boxes, a caricature artist, Rescue Flats, custom stationary, a custom crest, including their pup in the ceremony, custom cuff links, wax seals, and the list goes on! The woman is unstoppable, and I am pretty sure she has a bright future in wedding planning if she wants it!
Aside from the beautiful details at the wedding, there were some very special things that happened. Her Aunt Bibi officiated, and it was a surprise to everyone–a very good surprise(we all LOVE her)! At the end of the ceremony instead of saying “you make kiss the bride,” she said “you may kiss me!” and Angela and Robby gave her a kiss on the cheek. It was the cutest thing ever. Angela Also included their rescue pup, Gardner, in the wedding. He had his own floral and coordinating leash, and walked up and down the aisle like a perfect gentleman, although there was one little mishap. hahaha! Read on for more on that story!
Robby is a sommelier in San Antonio and he won Angela’s heart in the restaurant where he works. Angela came to dinner with her friend and noticed there was a new guy serving wine. She ordered a bottle of Proseco, and he carded her. Although it wasn’t love at first sight for Angela(or was it?), they kept seeing each other every time she would go there for dinner, and one day Robby had the courage to ask her out! He must have super suave skills because he later proposed in ROME, the city of love.
Being a part of this wedding was so awesome, and I am SO lucky that Angela and Robby chose ME to photograph their best day ever. Angela and Robby, I wish you decades of life together!
xo,
Allison
In case you didn’t know, Hotel Emma is the cutest place on EARTH! It was voted as one of the top ten hotels in the nation and has received numerous awards, and after you see some of these photos, you will understand why! Angela had the tile at Hotel Emma replicated inside of the envelopes as the lining!
Angela also had this custom crest made! Here’s what it means, from her
“Our fur babies – Gardner (our King rescue pup) and Dante (our Queen rescue kitty) are on either side of the crest, both of them are holding grapes in honor of Robby being a sommelier.
The ribbon at the bottom has our wedding date in roman numerals – Robby proposed to me in Rome – When he got down on one knee he said “Rome has been a city forever, and thats how long I want to be with you.” (he decided he wanted to propose to me in Italy since I am half italian, he wanted to show me my homeland, lol)
The pomegranates, pumpkins, flowers and grapes throughout are based on our wedding decor.
The house at the bottom is our house. ”
Every guest received these cute gift boxes full of wedding day necessities like water(with their custom crest), Advil, a lint roller, and a map of The Pearl District. PS They had their fiesta themed rehearsal dinner at La Gloria, and it was amazing. Robby had a custom suit made as well as custom cuff links that had their crest on them. Angela and Robby shared a first look as well. If you want to know more about what that is, click here! This bouquet + that dress from BHLDN is ALL THE HEART EYES! The Ceremony location at Hotel Emma is my FAVORITE! The greenery makes such a beautiful statement, you really don’t need any extra decoration.
Not pictured: Gardner watering the pumpkins. HAHAHA!!!(But you better believe it’s going to be in their final gallery!) The moment Angela found out that Gardner peed on the aisle decor. HAHA!! This light right here is the reason I love First Looks SO MUCH!!!
Angela and her dad created all of these cute signs for the wedding! BRILLIANT. These cute pinatas were custom made for their Fiesta themed rehearsal dinner. and here are about a million reasons why bubble gun exits should be a thing! PS This was Robby’s idea! Aunt Bibi is just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Hotel Emma also has this beautiful library full of character
