As a wedding photographer I love photographing venues like Welfare Cafe. It has such charm and it feels so cozy. It was the perfect venue for Chad and Sam to tie the knot.
When Sam first inquired with me to be her wedding photographer we hit it off like best friends, so I was excited to be able to capture their special day at the Welfare Cafe. And the colors she chose for the wedding were perfect for fall–navy, maroon, and pops of orange. Sam is a no-fuss kind of girl so for her wedding attire she found a simple elegant dress at a department store and had a floor-length skirt made to wear during the ceremony (genius!). They also included their fur babies in the Ceremony and group photos, which I love–they’re family!
Sam was very adamant about their guests putting away their phones and being present during the ceremony and enjoying it (and not blocking my shots!), so she MADE this adorable “unplugged” sign to place at the sign-in table. I think she needs to open up an etsy shop. Unplugged signs for everyone!
Grandma’s rosary was with Sam throughout the entire wedding :)
Not pictured: 40mph FREEZING winds! These girls and the entire family were troopers! A big shout-out to Charlene with Parties By Design for keeping us on schedule, sane, and saving us from freezing more! If you’re on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator for your big day, I can tell you Charlene is worth her weight in gold!
I love, love, LOVE the bridesmaids’ attire! These Aztec print sweaters were perfectly paired with their navy blue dresses. And those booties with the fringe! (no pun intended!)
Again, they were troopers in the freezing wind! And very patient with my frozen fingers that didn’t want to move. Hehe.
As usual, Fresh Urban Flowers did a great job on floral
This cake. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I want to eat it. Right now. For some reason naked cakes just look tastier. Is that just me?
Chad is a welder, so for his groom’s cake, Sam surprised him with this! He loved it. Everyone loved it ;)
Chad used his welding skills to make them their own branding iron (how sweet!), so they branded a plank of wood to hang in their house
If you haven’t noticed yet, Chad and Sam are not your average wedding couple (in the best way). They had a pinata with adult beverages inside!
My favorite moment of the day: Sam’s grandpa showing off his moves :)
They didn’t want a fancy send-off so they danced the night away and enjoyed their friends and family, so I snagged the rings for their own photoshoot before I left for the night.
