Dani and Ian are two super-human geniuses who met in college at Texas State where their love bloomed into an adventure. She plays the piccolo, he plays the oboe, and they are fan-freaking-tastic at it. I’ve known Dani for forever, basically. We grew up going to the same school, and her older sister, Jackie and I were in the same grade. We played tennis together, sang karaoke together, and were the best of friends, so when Dani asked me to photograph her wedding I immediately said YES!
Their wedding was basically a reunion of some of my favorite people–and so beautiful!
Ian and Dani’s dad built their ceremony arch where Dani and Ian exchanged their vows. They wrote their own vows, and like Dani’s parents put it, it was like listening to a dissertation. A romantic dissertation! They were so eloquent and so thoughtful. It was truly beautiful.
And when the golden light came out to play, we squealed with excitement. Scroll down and you’ll understand why ;)
I also need to add that Dani and Ian were blessed with THE BEST weather December could ever offer! It was 60 degrees and sunny! They were extremely lucky, because just one day later a cold front blew in and the highs were in the 20s! Yiiikes!
I’m so grateful to have been a part of their special day, and I wish them decades and decades of love and happiness!
Dani included as many family heirlooms into her day as possible. She wore her mom’s pearl earrings that she wore on her own wedding day and Ian’s grandmother’s pearl necklace.
*cue the TEARS!*
Dani’s dad MADE these candle holders for the reception!
And Ian’s grandfather made their cake topper. How adorable, right?!
