I have lived in the Hill Country my entire life, and I have been photographing weddings for over TEN years now, so I’ve “seen it all,” and wanted to share my favorite locations. Some I have photographed elopements and intimate weddings at, and some I have photographed portrait sessions and proposals at and thought “this would be beautiful for a wedding.” I’ll be sure to include that information below under each location!
I have photographed full-size weddings here, and I have photographed microweddings with less than 10 people here! It’s absolutely stunning and it looks amazing in every season since they have turf and live oak trees (they keep their leaves in the Winter)
Contigo Ranch is a great location if you’re wanting a view of the Hill Country. It’s absolutely STUNNING, especially when the sun is shining and you get that golden hour glow. I have photographed full-size weddings as well as portrait sessions here. It would be perfect for a Texas elopement.
For the adventure-loving couple. You can get married at the base of the rock or hike up a little bit. I have photographed a bunch of different areas of Enchanted Rock and they’re all beautiful. If you plan on having guests attend I would suggest having your wedding down below and then go on a little adventure with your photographer up the rock.
One of my favorite locations. They even have food available! While I haven’t photographed a wedding here, I’m constantly reminded that it would be beautiful to get married here.
If you love craft beer this venue is for you. It also has a beautiful European German vibe to it. Their ceremony space is stunning and they have beautiful roses in the warmer months.
I haven’t been to Mo Ranch in YEARS, but it’s underrated and absolutely gorgeous. It’s nestled in Hunt, Texas–one of the most beautiful locations in The Hill Country. They have quite a few options for ceremony locations, but I love “Chapel on the Hill” the best. They also have a little reception space called “Nicklos Place” that’s perfect if you’re having an intimate wedding.
This one is known by the locals of Kerrville and Center Point. It doesn’t have an address, but it’s on River Road in Center Point, Texas. It would be perfect for couples who love the River. Just don’t go on the weekends during the warm months–it’s very popular! (This is a maternity session, but use your imagination haha).
I photographed a wedding here (see it here) and fell in LOVE! It would be perfect for an elopement or microwedding (or wedding of any size!). Start your ceremony an hour before sunset so you can get the twinkle light magic in your photos and do night portraits when the sun sets!
If you’re wanting a European chic vibe for your wedding this venue is perfect for you. I also suggest taking photos in the vineyard afterward! I have only photographed a couple of winter proposals here, so you have to use your imagination a little bit.
This venue is absolutely stunning–especially when we’re not in a drought and the creek is running! I recently photographed a maternity session here, and I have also done bridal sessions.
xoxo, Allison
